Hero of the movie goes to a "mystical" place in an Asian area to be trained by the master and bunch of ninjas. Hero goes back to the U.S. to get away from the past yada yada.
He doesn't go to a "mystical place" in Asia. He's born in China. He grows up in China. He's Chinese. He's trained by his father, and then runs away from home to the U.S.
Absolutely nothing whatsoever in common with Batman Begins.
So he was already being trained at home then in a sense. Heir to the throne that ran away because of differing ideology or lifestyle. Watching it tomorrow.
shareI just got back from seeing Shang-Chi. I can see the similarities to Batman Begins. Even at times Shang-Chi (the character) was reminding me of Batman/Bruce Wayne. And Shang-Chi's father and sister kind of had a Ra's and Talia Al Ghul thing going on. There are some similarities to Batman Begins, but I wouldn't say they did some shot-for-shot remake but just changed the main character from white to Asian. They changed it up some.
