Is this REALLY as GOOD as they say?

Aside from Rogue One and Mandalorian, I've been burnt so often by Disney Star Wars that I truly believe they can do no good, but despite lack of interest, this Rogue One spin-off is truly being heralded as a return to the good old days of Star Wars, even critics like the Critical Drinker are singing its praises, as are tons of positive reviews everywhere!

From what I've seen of it, it does look gorgeous, but is it worth my time? I'm extremely wary of signing onto Disney+ once again.

BTW, I thought Rogue One was brilliant, since I love everything to do with the Death Star.

It is. But the question is, should Star Wars be like this? Does it need gritty realism?

reply

It's ok. Something to watch, if you are bored.

reply

Its boring. Don't bother.

reply

not especially. it's certainly well made. but ultimately pointless. maybe it will have more to say in the second season. we didn't learn anything in this series we didn't already know. unlike other fans, i really liked the first half and thought the whole back half was boring as dirt.

It has that realistic, gritty, late 70s / early 80s Star Wars / Empire Strikes Back feel to it. It feels like it's set in the Star Wars universe we grew up with. It could probably use a few more aliens or general Lucas weirdness, but it's solid.

reply

I grew up on the OT. I don't remember anything that was realistic about Star Wars. Unless you know any Giant Dogs that can pilot a Plane or something.

If you like a show were people just sit around talking and mostly nothing happens for 12 hours its great. If you want to be entertained. Than watch something else.
