Denzel gave him a lot of praise working with him. I'll take his opinion.

Of course Denzel did that, he was promoting the movie and Denzel is a pro, so, he would never say anything to undermine the movie

Lack of charisma is a problem that many current day actors have. Pretty faces all around but nothing sticks out.

Solid actor but definitely lacking in the charisma department. Not every actor has the potential to be a leading man. He was simply miscast. Zero main character energy

I also think it is more miscast. Actors like Russell Crowe, Christian Bale and Joaquin Phoenix have more intensity, more suitable to this kind of roles.

Paul Mescal I think is more suitable for less serious roles, maybe rom-coms, like what Glen Powell did in "Anyone But You".
