Nobody was asking for this

IKR, the original didn't really leave a whole lot of room for a sequel. What are they going to make a sequel to next? Braveheart?

The only way this could have possibly worked is if they had put everything into the writing and character development, with the special effects taking a back seat, instead they went full send on the special effects with the characters used as superfluous filler that will no doubt be made up of cliche back stories and hollow-like screen presence, and what we’re left with is a Michael Bay type Gladiator film that nobody asked for and nobody wants.
It’s sad and disappointing.

I hope they make a Gladiator movie every other year. Rome was doing this crap for a thousand years, i'm sure we can mine a few stories out it.
