I must be getting old (mid 30s) cause this show is pure trash. Production quality is good, but the
story suuuucks.
To me it seems this has been done by film students fresh out of school, who wanted to jam in as
many period pieces in there as possible.
The show is cringe, and this comes from someone who enjoys stumptown.
I think my marvel era came to an end, because if this is what Marvel will be bringing: good riddance
tvmaze 6.6 (exactly what I would give. it's not even a 7)
imdb 8.1
Did you watch episode 3 onward? Cause that really is where it gets interesting. The first 2 episodes were basically just the Dick Van Dyke show with Wanda and Vision but then episode 3 is where it turns into a more interesting show.
ofc. I obviously knew ep1 and 2 wasn't going to be the show's format. I waited till ep4, but don't think I'll continue.
At least there's comfort in knowing this is just a mini-series, therefor at least the production quality should remain high.
Damn, how very insightful. But actually more like.... how very full of crap you are. The biggest.
Lol, for anyone who thinks this troll is anything but a troll. Ooh, one isn’t allowed to criticize something a product so many like without being called a troll? Please, as if isn’t obvious where this O kewl edgelord spouting nonsense like all the others like it up in this cesspool is coming from. (Granted sometimes it’s hard to tell who’s just a detractor of this franchise and just troll trolling, but either way they have the same dumb goal.) So another obvious troll with a sock account.... zzz
Same boat. I am entertained but I am sure I am not getting most references as I am not a big marvel fan. Like the Quicksilver reveal meant nothing to me.
Pssst, this might be an uncomfortable little secret BUT you don't need to know about any Easter Eggs to enjoy the series. 😉
Most of the foundational aspects that support the series are of course having some knowledge about the history of the characters from the MCU movies and the Marvel comics themselves. Then there is something unique to this series and that is the American Pop Culture TV series throughout the decades. Most watching WandaVision probably haven't ever seen I Love Lucy, the Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, etc, etc, etc.
The audiences of today are very different due to the extreme amount of content available, and the varying tastes and attention spans of younger audiences. One thing is clear though, much is viewed with social media readily at hand. Most don't want to be surprised they want to claim to know.
I typed all that above because I was bored this evening. Time to return to work! 🤣
I'm old enough to get the American Pop Culture TV show reverences, but I just don't care about the Marvel or any other superhero movie enough to follow "reveals?" in the show, although I have watched a few.
I have bear minimum knowledge to include having no idea who Wanda or Vision were, but still enjoying the show.
As another poster wrote. Same boat. I am entertained but I am sure I am not getting most references as I am not a big marvel fan. Like the Quicksilver reveal meant nothing to me.
holy sh. Danger 5 looks trippy af. For being made in 2011-2015 they really pulled off that 70s/80s feel. Might give it a watch. I'm more into grounded 70s/80s/90s (think Serpico) not sci-fi of those decades, but who knows, Danger 5 looks interesting. I'm not familiar with australian humor, but if it won't turn me off I might finish Danger 5.
> This has that smug millennial feel to it?
not sure if you're asking or if it's a statement.
if by "this" you mean Wanda, then yes, the smugness is real. It might be a nice introduction to the decades following the 50s for kids aged 6-15 now, but that's about it.
I assumed more like-minded hang out in moviechat but they seem to be located at tvmaze and metacritic.
I really had more hopes for Disney/Marvel post Iron Man era. Given all the drama Disney surrounds itself these days, it's really hard to give them leeway when they put out content like Wandavision.
