I think this could earn zero dollars world wide
I know this was made for Hollyweird to remind everyone that they hate religious people and Christianity but is there really an audience for this?

shareSure, why not? I'm old enough to remember this scandal like it was yesterday. I'm gonna take my mother to see it.
shareNotice the movie's title: it's not just about televangelism. The focus is on Tammy Faye as an innocent bystander who was unjustly maligned for being married to a convicted criminal.
Her husband went to prison. She didn't. Even though most of the intended audience wasn't even born when the events depicted took place, what a perfect story for an age where everyone is taught to view themselves as a victim.
Ah very true. They'll surely make her the innocent victim of the toxic white religious male.
shareI think there is definitely an audience for this.
shareNot me. I have no patience for people who have been ensnared by Evangelicals, unless they have outright rejected it.
Now if Tammi was portrayed by Dolly Parton, that would have been an interesting take.
TF Bakker may deserve a certain amount of sympathy but it would take some damn good directing and story telling to make her someone I would want to watch on screen for that long.
But then, some said that about Tonya Harding, and I got the impression the filmmakers of I, Tonya, were trying to have a bit of fun with our expectations and emotions. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get out of a fictionalized examination of Tammi's life if it doesn't have some smart layers of love AND parody. Just not the kind of person I want to observe at length.
I have been to several movies where I was the only one in the audience. So yeah, there may be a few hundred audiences for this.
shareI would get PTSD looking at her face for 2 hours!
shareChristians and Evangelicals are the biggest suckers in the religious world. They deserve to made fun of. Muslims get so much shit but at least they are not dumb enough to give the little money they have to charlatans like Rob Paterson, Jim Bakker and Joel Olsteen.
