Wait 5 years and reboot.
Hopefully now that this trashfire is dead, somewhere down the line, someone else will buy the rights and make a more serious attempt.

shareHonestly, in the current climate I don't trust any version to not have a preachy agenda.
shareAgreed. But a really good story would be a superhero who starts cleaning up the mess caused by Police being defunded and Woke authorized thugs. Kind of like a superhero version of Dirty Harry. Batwoman would be good for that given the Batman link and Batman was also a vigilante.
sharei've been saying that for a while now, actually immediately when it became an issue, I noted that "defund" would be a GREAT justification for superheroes existing and/or being allowed to operate, and/or being popular.
I'm actually surprised that (as far as I know) neither of the big two has leaned into that in the comics.
shareIt goes against the Woke theme they have jumped on. Although not superhero related, the English series "Life on Mars" is about a modern cop who goes back to the 70's and encounters an old school cop which is really interesting. Just avoid the American remake!
shareI'm in the UK and I watched Life on Mars (and Ashes to Ashes) religiously! I've never seen the US version - probably won't now!
shareIt's really bad the casting wasn't done well. In the UK version a lot of tension between the two cops is because the 70's one is so much bigger than the modern copper so the modern copper has to use some tact and diplomacy. In the American version the 70's cop is quite frail looking compared to the modern cop. The modern cop could just bowl the 70's one over.
Slight change perhaps but it makes a huge difference and maybe they just didn't do the whole thing very well anyway.
I saw part of the brit version. I need to go back to that. It was very good.
shareUntil we get more balance or a complete about face in Hollywood we won't see that for a while sadly enough. The English series "Life on Mars" is about a modern cop who goes back to the 70's and has to deal with 70's policing and attitudes which is really interesting. Not superhero but sci fi and something different.
shareThat would be a nice idea.
