the plot is a bit thin - it should not win Best Picture.

beautifully shot but a weak plot. It should not win Best Picture.

If it wins it will be one of the better recent winners, but I'm hoping Parasite pulls it off.

Well, it didn't win. On the other hand I found it better than the film that did (Parasite).

Ya man the should have just sent a text or email.

I guess you missed the entire point of the film. it wasn't a deep political thriller.

it was a character piece meant to show the real horrors of WW1 and not glorify it and try and give a more "realistic" presentation.

What do you mean weak plot?
"Traverse the battlefields of ww1 in order to deliver vital message that will save 1000s of lives"
Plenty of meat on that plot

Better than Private Ryan:
"Go find this kid and tell him his holidays are due"
