Thought it was dissapointing
They went way too sci fi with it.The first was a slasher film with a sci fi twist. This was a straight up sci fi movie with a slasher twist.

shareI really liked both of these but it was definitely a departure from the first. I think part of this is because the first was only a half-hearted slasher to begin with and really was more of a romantic/teen comedy (dramedy?). Yes there was a masked killer but did anyone really find it scary? Considering she was reborn immediately upon dying, it took any real chill out of her impending death and to me it was just a fun movie with a likable lead going on a journey of self discovery as to the awful person she was. The sequel replaced slasher with sci-fi but at the core it was still about the relationships of the lead character which I enjoyed. I'm guessing there's a good chance there will be a third film but having enjoyed the first two I kind of hope they just quit while they're ahead.
shareI liked the first much better.I found the star trek sci fi stuff a little contrived. The whole movie took place in an
alt-dimension
which means none of those characters or their stories mattered at the end of the day.It just didn't have the same charm as the first one for me.
shareDidn't like this movie at all,was trying too hard to be funny.
shareIt was a borefest.
shareI agree. First one sort of had a Groundhog Day, magical, fairy tale feel in the way the day mysteriously repeated on her birthday. They shouldn’t have created the science stuff
