would this work with any other band/artist?
i think not, the beatles' songs are universal.
shareMaybe Led Zeppelin, or Black Sabbath? Imagine a world with no "Stairway To Heaven", or "Iron Man"!
shareI agree this could possibly work with Led Zeppelin. I think it would be a movie I would love to have a Cat Stevens version, but it would probably be hard to get people to the theatre as he wasn't nearly as popular, but he has a ton of great songs that I think would appeal to a lot of people.
sharethe stones?
shareElvis
Stevie Wonder
Beach Boys
Rolling Stones
Michael Jackson. Erase him, and your erasing Usher, Chris Brown, Bruno mars, Justin Timberlake(solo), Neyo, etc...
Honestly, it would be harder for someone to recreate Michael, as you'd have to incorparate his dance moves as well or the magic just wont be there.
Mozart
shareMaybe not as big as the beatles but,
Van Halen: Jump, Panama
Alice Cooper: 18, elected, under my wheels...etc
Motley Crue: kickstart my heart, Same old situation
tonnes of great music
What a strange thread. The global familiarity with literally dozens of Beatles songs is very, very hard to compare to anything or anyone else. Certainly an argument there for Elvis and probably Michael Jackson, but Led Zeppelin? Black Sabbath? Putting the popularity of their body of work on the level of the Beatles is just nonsense. Stairway to Heaven is just one song...
