Unlike most of the cartoonish battles in superhero movies, the fight scenes in this were very realistic looking & sounding. Especially the first big one on the bus. Saw it last night and the audience was feeling the pain. Lots of OWWS and DAMNS. Kudos to the fight choreography team. They did a helluva job. And kudos to Odenkirk for really selling it. Read an article that said he spent two years training for this role. It definitely shows.
But... holy realism, Batpool! Yeah bro, if only them unkewl films based on superhuman/powered and otherworldly beings stayed true to reality. Constantly showing the characters in those films (some of those characters have been around longer than boomers) doing things real humans can’t and providing audiences with otherworldly wonder? What’s up with them constantly insulting real life like that? The un-snobbish audacity, ugh! And grrr CGI this and that.
As for audible OWWS? Yep, that kinda stuff never happens with those old bro-disapproved comic films. ;) But if it did, they’d still got nothing on kewl reality-based films that the elitist Scorseses of the world can f with (actually no cuz those like the aforementioned goodfella hate most/all action cinema). XD
Yeah like, most of those super heroes from the comics are not super human, just using either super tech or something invented. So throwing them down flights of stairs or out of buildings, when their power is wielding a shield or wearing a suit, rilly doesn't brake reality.
It kind of went from a 9 out of 10 for the bus scene to a 4 out of 10 for the final showdown. If you want to make booby traps at least have someone that understand IED and booby trap go over them and point out the utter stupidity of the ones that wouldn't work. The shotgun shell going off outside of a gun and yet blasting through a wall and hitting someone made me cringe. Hell with all the explosions and gunfire of the final showdown none of the characters would have been able to talk to each other for days as their ears would be ringing like mad.
