Has this stood the test of time?
I don't think so. Just tried to rewatch it and it's a bit of a drag. Once you know what happens the suspense is gone. It's above average for sure but not in the all time classic category.

It's not a top three horror movie for 2018... maybe it can eek in around fifth place or something.
A Quiet Place, Annihilation, Halloween, The Nun, Insidious: The Last Key, Suspiria, The Strangers: Prey at Night, Bird Box and Upgrade (if you consider that a horror) all can go toe-to-toe with it.
Different strokes…. I guess, and I couldn’t disagree more, also, not a hipster and feel that I am emotionally intelligent enough to know when I’m being gaslit from a mile away, but that’s neither here nor there.
It’s also not a good look to malign those you’re arguing against, it minimizes your position and diminishes any substance your argument holds.
Hereditary is crafted with a level precision and due diligence that is tiers above most anything being made today, or has been for that matter, and is as close to a perfect film as one can be, imo.
I understand if you have a preference for the movie but calling it perfect is a colossal exaggeration.

No film is perfect btw, well maybe Barry Lyndon, lol, but Hereditary is near flawless imo and that’s close enough for me.

7.3 on IMDb is not even close to the top 250.
Yes, you are completely exaggerating when you describe this movie as 'as close to a perfect film as one can be'. The online ratings certainly don't reflect that.
