Cause the book ending and the 90's movie both have bad endings, i don't wanna see a goofy spider nor do i wanna see something mystical about a giant fucking turtle having the world on its back.
shareStephen King was high on drugs when he wrote the book, so of course it's going to be weird. But there was a large physical form that looked like a spider, but nowhere near as gormless as the miniseries version. And it laid eggs, so I can imagine adult Ben spending ages stomping all of those out of existence. But I think whatever the movie has planned will make or break the franchise as a whole. We'll see.
I enjoyed the 90s version of It but the ending was badly executed. I know that it was a TV movie and resources were limited but come on! That spider was stupid looking and fake as hell. It ruined the series for me.
Whatever they plan to do with the ending of the 2019 version - it has to be better than the original!

They already changed the mythology by having It’s victims literally “float” (which I didn’t mind, personally)
I’d guess defeating It will likewise be different.
But introducing the turtle now would take way too much exposition. It’d be boring, and for most viewers would be straight out of left field.

I really, really liked the floating bit at the end. It was so unexpected, it didn't really change anything substantial, and it gave a bit of extra punch to what came before. Plus, it allowed me to Tweet "spoiler alert, they all float down there," and have it actually be a spoiler, but one that everyone would assume was a joke/no one would know was a spoiler, until they watched it and it was too late to have anything spoiled. But jokes aside, I really think the film captured the best parts of King's book, and the changes were all improvements.
