11 Oscar Nominations

Well deserved. I agree it will get actor and score.

I saw this last night not expecting much after reading all the mixed reviews. Easily hands down the best film I have seen in Months.

I wonder if it will get a re-release for the Oscar season.

It seems to me like Phoenix is the frontrunner for actor. It is a grand slam performance. I haven't seen Marriage Story or The Two Popes yet, though...but I don't think either Driver's or Pryce's performances have the buzz to topple Phoenix.

It will win actor, score and maybe editing.

Phoenix wouldn’t be my pick but it’s a good performance - not one of his best but good enough. Banderas would be my pick of the nominees followed by Driver.

I think that because the voting period was extremely short this year voters didn’t get to see much outside of the main race, which explains the massive nomination hauls for the key contenders. This is, I believe, the first year that four films received double digit nods. When Joker was named for costume design my eyes rolled.

Phoenix will win. I think score is going to Thomas Newman for 1917. But Joker def is close after the Globe win.

Best actor. The 11 nominations is to get people to watch the whole Oscar show.
