Way too much teen drama

What made this show possible and what made it interesting was Johnny and Daniel, not all the tedious romances and heartbreaks of dopey high school kids. Cobra Kai started flying off the rails about midway through season 2.

It's a teen show, ffs! It's so corny no grown up would enjoy it. And I like it for what it is, btw.

KK was not Top Gun.

Well, karate kid was a teenager movie, so what did you expect? Personally i quite enjoy the show in a nostalgic way, as i was a kid when karate kid came out.

But...but....the main hook was that we'd get a glimpse of characters from a popular teen-oriented 80s film when they were entrenched in middle age. That hook caught a lot of fishes like myself, for a while. I doubt that 25 years from now there will be any analogous interest in the teens introduced in Kobra Cai.
