Did Cliff really need to obliterate that poor girl's face?

She was unconscious after the first or second ramming into the wall phone.

She was most likely dead after the first slam into the stone fireplace mantle.

Finishing her with several smashes onto the coffee table seemed quite barbaric if you ask me.
