More overrated, Tarantino or DiCaprio?

DiCaprio is simply not a good actor. It’s always there’s babyface Leo trying to act like someone else.

And Tarantino is just a cliche. Let’s do a period movie and we’ll show a bunch of junk from that period and it’ll be cool. Look pull tab cans and ashtrays, cool! The retro style camera in the car was already done in the new Oceans 11 yawn.

Surprised he didn’t throw in the overzoom retro style like Blow did. Look a slow motion shot of some chics hair and flashbulb. Haven’t seen that 1000x.

Ratface should’ve hung it up after PF.

While I do think Tarantino is slightly overrated, I definitely feel that Dicaprio is more overrated as an actor than Tarantino is a director. When he isn't overacting, I think Dicaprio has done an okay job of playing himself throughout his career.

Neither, they’re both supremely talented individuals in my opinion.

🤣😂 OP: "hey, look at me. I'm super edgy for not liking people that are recognized as being among the elites in their field. That makes me kewl, right mom?."

DiCaprio. Very limited range as an actor. Basically plays the same character in every movie. There is "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", but that was decades ago.

Tarantino is manipulative and entertaining.
I've liked most of his movies, but they are kind of set-aside silly movies.
He is very clever with his scenes, the two most creative to me were
Inglourius Basterds
Hateful Eight
They both gave me a lot of laughs, but IB also had some connection to reality.
I enjoyed Once Upon A Time In Hollywood because it operates on a lot of levels,
mostly superficial levels, at once. The harkening back to old TV series or products
or actors from the past set into the movie in some way that always makes me
pause and wonder how did they do that.

I'm not sure that DiCrapio is really that overrated in the sense that does anyone actually fawn over his acting ability as such? I mean, I don't really recall any particular scene of his that has people going "Oh, DiCrapio was absolutely amazing in *whatever in that scene where he *whatevered".

Like someone else said in this thread, he's actually just been in a few good films rather than him being the reason they were good films.

Sometimes I find him a bit too meta - You see his big round ball baby head and you remember that was what initially appealed to teenage girls, when he was (I guess) in his heartthrob roles. But now you've got this older guy with the same big round head and it almost takes you out of the film...

Tarantino was good in his day, like posture rock. But can only become increasingly embarrassing through the passage of time.

DiCaprio is like Brad Pitt in that they seem to have amazing agents who get them the best scripts while their acting is mediocre.

Tarantino copies the best bits from a bunch of other directors but it gets a bit samey after a while.

DiCaprio is more overrated as he never had a trademark style.
