Wait, what??? I'm a studio plant?

And I didn't even know it?!

That's insidious, indeed!

I'm gonna have to look into this...I believe I have money coming!

reply

i get paid 25 cents per letter...

reply

Is it really that good compared to his previous films?
Where would you place it, on a list of his best films?
Is it up there with the likes of Pulp Fiction (which I love) or more inline with Hateful 8/Inglorious Bastards (which I think are okay..)?

I’m so hoping it’s great, but I’ve been let down by so many “critically acclaimed movies” lately... Especially when it comes to Rotten Tomatoes.

reply

I'd put it in the top 3 along with Resevoir and Pulp Fiction, but hey, I've only seen it once and that opinion is subject to change over time.

reply

Sweet, that’s what I was hoping to hear! Thanks man. I’ll for sure check it out ASAP.

reply

I must say The Hateful Eight is my least favorite QT film and I’m a big Kurt Russell fan.

I’ve just got out of my second viewing of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and I’m thinking it does rank up there with Pulp Fiction.

reply

I agree about that film. I appreciate the fact that he made up for it on this one.

reply

Great. Thanks for that. You sound just like me. Love Kurt Russell, & was excited they were working together. Couldn’t wait to see Hateful 8...but was let down by the movie. Only thing that I really liked of the movie was the soundtrack by Morricone. Sounds like the good Tarantino is back.

reply

Yeah, same here. Morricone in any film is going to be kick ass for sure.

You will be glad to know Kurt Russell has a lengthy narration in a portion of this film.

reply

Scrape, I see you are very interested in this film, but I'd have to say there are many more lulls in the film than in the earlier classics. Many slow parts but it does pay off in the end, I think.

reply

Thanks for the input. Definitely looking forward to seeing it. Tarantino’s last couple films have been written more like novels than screenplays.
Which I like, but the story itself needs to be interesting, of course. I didn’t care for Hateful 8. Wasn’t awful, but not one of his best efforts for sure. Lulls I’m fine with as long as the movie as a whole works. Thanks again, definitely going to check it out asap.

reply

I agree.
