The only issue I had with this movie..

..is that she actually had it pretty good for middle school. Yes, the popular kids pretty much ignored her and didn't want to hang out with her, but they did not terrorize her via name calling and mean actions, which is common middle school type bullying. What happened to Dawn Weiner in Welcome to the Dollhouse was a more accurate depiction of being an outcast in middle school, albeit maybe a little extreme. However, if this movie had reached a balance between the former and latter, it would have been perfect.

Otherwise, it was a really good movie with some really good acting, A solid 7.5

This is a fair assessment. Dawn Weiner's life was definitely more stressful than Kayla's. Despite all the current anti-bullying sloganeering, bullying is still very much part of life for kids. Wish it was easier to teach kindness like what Olivia showed to Kayla.
