I haven't watched this yet, but note the disparity between critics and audiences:

I know the author of the book is a conservative and I suspect that's why the communists--I mean, critics--are giving it such a hard time.

Can anyone confirm?

In general if critics think a film is bad, it's probably going to be really entertaining. And if they think it's great it is most likely going to be a yawn fest.

audiences are simpletons. critics are more cultured and sophisticated.
