Sequel has been announced, what should the sequel focus on?

I think the film doesn't need a sequel or prequel. It is a fine movie in its own right.

Still, studios gotta studio and so we'll either get a community being built in the aftermath of being able to fight back against the invaders with betrayal, dashed hope and sacrifice being the beats or we'll get a fly-on-the-wall drama about the initial outbreak and how quickly society fell.

ok. i say no sequel. but since I dont have a choice I would say a prequel and the title should be ''day 9''.

NO EXPLANATION! I can't stand how everything in horror movies needs to be explained these days. That takes away the horror!

"For what we say in the first movie, they were not hunting to eat, they just killed any living thing that made a noise, but they were not eating or at least it wasn't shown."

I was never clear on that.

We see a memorial but did we ever see a grave for their young son? That would imply there was little or nothing left to bury. Which, in turn, suggests he was probably eaten.

The old woman in the field looked eviscerated, but we didn't see the lower half of her body. Was she partially consumed? We don't know.

We see a raccoon get snagged by one of the critters. Again though, there's no indication whether it was eaten. The fact that it was dragged off, rather than killed and simply left for dead, implies that it was eaten.

A noisy place

This doesn't need a sequel but a continuation right after the end of this one would be interesting as would a prequel showing the invasion.

I want a prequel that shows how the creatures came and took over the planet.

I enjoyed this film immensely! It was one of the most original horror films I have seen in a LONG time! I think the sequel should be a continuation of the same story about the remaining people in the family and how they leave their sanctuary to find and be with others, sort of like The Walking Dead. If she is up for it, Emily Blunt should reprise her role and the little deaf girl should return, as well as the son. The story should show how they are coping with the loss of the father and how they are trying to find other people and tell them that they discovered the monsters' weakness.
