Well. I liked it

Not trying to be mean, But I literally disagree with every point you made...

I thought The tone was perfect.

I almost thought you were trolling when you complained about the Music, because based on what I've read that is the one thing that seems to be universally agreed on is great!

almost every single review or reaction I read comments on the soundtrack and music being great.

but I get that everyone has there own opinions.......I just strongly disagree with your opinions here

I agree the music is fantastic, but I feel like it's used too much to the point a lot of it feels shoehorned in. For me that's a minor complaint though. I absolutely loved the movie overall. The beginning gave me such strong Scream vibes and had me hooked immediately. It comes into its own eventually, but it was nice to see the homage.

Critics aren’t obligated to calibrate their expectations in such a way that every movie gets a good grade - that’s more or less the opposite of their job. They’re supposed to bring a wide-ranging knowledge of the art form and a distinct perspective.

Likewise, an individual viewer’s enjoyment or non-enjoyment of a movie is independent of critical reception. There’s no objective standard of “good” and “bad” in art, which allows for vast differences in reaction and enjoyment of any particular work. That’s part of the joy. This fixation on things being reviewed in a certain way makes it seem like reviews determine quality, which simply isn’t true.

Not quality.....Consensus

I completely get everyone has their own opinions...

I would never claim because a movie gets good reviews that equally its a good movie.

But if a movie gets overwhelmingly positive or negative reviews that reveals a consensus.

and The point I was making when I brought up reviews was entirely based on Consensus....You had an opinion that BASED on The reviews and data seemed to be in a very small minority....

The overwhelming consensus seemed to be that the 1 thing almost everybody and ever review agreed on was The music/soundtrack being very good.

You are free to have your opinion that the music is bad....I'm not saying you are wrong...but you are in fact in a very small minority who share that opinion...The consensus is overwhelming that the soundtrack and music seems to be almost universally praised and liked.

Just because the song choices are good doesn’t mean they were used well.

This statement is literally nonsensical

I was a little disappointed with it too. I agree about the tone. It is like a violent R rated horror film, but at the same time made for kids. For me, there were enough good moments to give it a 6/10, but this could have been so much better.

I was entertained enough to give part two a chance when it comes out this week. But I think that the ‘Fear Street’ trilogy is going to be blown away by Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Christopher Pike’s ‘The Midnight Club’, which is also coming out on Netflix.

Thank you for giving hope to a disappointed Stine/Pike reader.

I agree with your review, not a bad movie but it did feel like a CW movie a little bit. Hard to take seriously some of the teen stuff.

The green face boy called the cop a pig, that would never happen in real life.

I don't necessarily disagree with your review. But the issues you have doesn't really bother me. The music style is typical of modern teen horror and the haziness around the demographic is kinda interesting because that doesn't feel quite so typical. It had flaws, but I enjoyed them.
