Way better then expected.
Just had nothing to do so put this movie on, the trailer looked alright. It pleasantly surprised me, not the greatest film ever but good solid sci-fi action flick.

shareAgreed. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.
shareAgreed - usually when I watch these no-name actor/studio films, I expect shit. This film though featured decent acting, well choreographed and filmed action scenes, and not a bad story to go along with it all.
So yeah - this proved to be much better than numerous AAA sci fi flicks that I've seen as of late.
Didn't like the dark ending but enjoyed the movie.Much better than i was expecting it to be.
shareSoooo much better than the new total boring bladerunner movie!! And, done on a fraction of the budget!! Welcome to a new style of Black Mirror type movies that are gonna make all the old sci-fi look like tinker toys!
shareThe ending is way better than the bullshit Hollywood shits out nowadays with those pussy happy endings which are all the same. Every single one of them. Maybe you are just too sensitive to a good, realistic and at the same time, shocking ending? Some people were so brainwashed that they expect melodramas from science fiction thrillers.
And your username is horror-fan? You sound like Disney movie fan
I don't mind a good dark ending but this one was very pessimistic and hopeless. The bad guy won and everyone died.
shareWas the chip in his neck really the bad guy though? Its just an AI trying to evolve. He sees no right or wrong in his/her/its? actions. The main character gets something like a happy ending, even if it was just a fantasy. It went bad for the detective though :S
shareRegardless of whether it understood right or wrong it's actions were purely selfish and evil in the end.I didn't feel the main character got a happy ending at all.I felt bad for him.Forever stuck in a fantasy world tricked into believing his wife never died.
shareYeah, but he is happy right? We know its not real but he believes its reality. The 'computer' in his neck was I guess evil, AI just does not have the same guilty conscience/feelings as we do. It probably understood right and wrong but just doesnt care, does not think like that. Except for the female detective I don't think he actually killed anybody innocent? Just the guys who killed his wife and crippled him. He still needs to get revenge on the chip in his neck though..
I've seen way more depressing endings for horror movies, especially french or asian ones, dunno if you ever watched Martyrs?
Anyways if you felt bad for him at the ending then yea.. :P lets hope for a sequell, although I dont know if that would work with this story
I think Martyrs will be too much for this guy. He's too sensitive and wants happy endings.
shareI think Martyrs (original) is a film that everyone should watch at least once. I went in pretty much blind to what it was about and damn, what a ride that film was. I loved it. You just didn't know where it was going to turn next.
shareI enjoyed the dark ending, sick of the feel-good endings...
Ex Machina is another good one that doesn't have the "feel good" ending.
Same here. It was basically on par with 'Ex Machina', 'The Machine' etc.
And way better than the absolute majority of the recent Netflix SF movies.
Kind of reminded me of dread , god dam loved this movie thought it was excellent
shareI concur with your review. It was a interesting flick with a nice twist on a previously used idea (see Robocop, Six Million Dollar Man, etc.).
shareYeah it's definitely among my favorite movies of the year
