A dumb China joke got it canned in theaters there. It will just go to video now. I was already just going to get the dvd and watch Wonder Woman that day anyway. I get lucly as this will go to dvd early than before.

The Chinese had their history. Punning "knees = Chinese" in an American movie based on a Japanese IP is basically giving them PTSD.

I bet you if any movie was made in the west denying the holocaust happening, that movie wouldn't see the light of day and the people jailed.

Of course offense can be GIVEN. If I call a black guy the N word, that's me throwing it out there so that he will be offended.
The majority of Chinese cinema goers have made enough noise online for the film to be pull there. So it would be reasonable to infer that the consensus is that most Chinese cinema goers are offended.
It's their market they have every right to pull it. Just as all films with the N word, if the whole continent of Africa do not wish to show films that feature the N word, it's their right.
