Isn't this just Castle 2.0
They just switched out a writer for a magician.
shareI've been thinking the same thing. I liked Castle, though, so I'll give this a try.
shareI loved and hated this premiere. It certainly got worse as it went along. I think the premise is super cool, though I doubt they'll be able to keep the magic element fresh for more than a single season. But as the show settled into the typical generic beat of man & woman solving crime, I was already bored. I'm not wild about the lead they picked for her either. Now his whole magic posse they have? That's gold. I would like to see this be more of an ensemble show like Scorpion than just the duo. And it may well play out that way. Hard to tell from here.
sharePretty much. Since cop partner shows are always in demand, you just have to come up with a new type of partner for a cop to get a show. Maybe I'll give it a try. Let's see, Cop-Writer, already done. Cop-Magician, this show. Cop-Vampire, been done. Cop-Demon, yep (Lucifer). Hmmm...Maybe I'll go with Cop - Turtle partners, I don't think I've seen that yet. One of you networks, give me a call.
shareSome of them require a great deal of suspension of disbelief.I saw one a few years ago called Taxi Brooklyn about a cop who loses her license due to reckless driving and has a taxi driver chauffeur her around and help her solve crimes.
shareThe Soup made SO MUCH fun of that show.
I never saw it but I always got a rundown of how it was going from Joel McHale.
