When a lead actress paid to promote the movie says "It's Okay" (which translated means "It's a bad movie") it means it must be a really bad movie.
shareindeed, also james cameron said in a a recent interview that the footage tim miller shot wasn't exactly a "slam dunk" and he [cameron] had to spend months in the editing room helping to make the best out of it (read: damage control).
shareI guess that's why they shouldn't have used an incompetent director.
shareHow is he incompetent? He's only made one other film and that film is Deadpool.
sharei don't think deadpool is much of a reference, directing wise. it was a huge hit, but mostly due to its script, which wasn't written by miller himself.
shareI would give Miller more credit than that for the film.
The director always has some script input, as well as input in every other facet of the making of the film. Let's think of the director as the conductor of an orchestra that consists of writers, cinematographers, composers, actors and so on. Just because Deadpool doesn't have, I guess, distinctive camerawork where you go "Wow! Now that's directing!" doesn't mean that it's not a well-directed film.

Really, do you have a link?
Can you tell me when she says it? I don't want to sit through a whole Kimmel interview

shareFAKE GARBAGE NEWS......AFTER A LONG LEADUP ABOUT LINDA NOT WANTING TO SEE FOOTAGE UNTIL THE MOVIE IS COMPLETE AND WITH AN AUDIENCE,AND HOW THE PREMIERE WAS CANCELLED ,AND SHE HAD TO WAIT EXTRA DAYS UNTIL THEY SET UP A FAMILY AND FRIENDS SHOWING...LONG LEAD UP...KIMMEL SAYS SO AFTER ALL THAT...HOW WAS THE MOVIE...LINDA JOKINGLY SAYS IT WAS OK(FULL SARCASM)...SHE THEN SAYS IT WAS GREAT...NO JOKES IN YOUR COUNTRY?
shareusually a joke like this goes into the different direction - you say "it' ok" when you actually mean "it's complete and utter garbage". of course she had to say "it was great" afterwards to qualify her initial sarcasm.
shareTHE STORY OF FINALLY SEEING THE MOVIE WAS THE BIG BUILDUP...SAYING IT WAS OKAY WAS THE PAYOFF.
shareNah, he's right. She was clearly making a joke. The only ones trying to spin it as "her real feelings" are the people predisposed to hate the movie, sight unseen.
Context is everything. It couldn't be more obvious she was joking.
if you're really enthusiastic about a movie, you wouldn't make jokes that imply otherwise. i think she left it ambiguous what she really thought about the movie, by telling us in a self-ironic way "i'm not a fanboy, i'm just an actress, who cares if i like the movie or not, go watch it for yourselves..."
shareOh, of course you would. In fact, I make jokes about stuff I LOVE like that All The Time. Not sure what you mean by "self-ironic," but what she did in that interview was quite obviously irony, in the most literal sense of the word. Again, the context makes it very clear.
shareI think she was just being humble.
