I dont get it, why the hate?

Just watched the teaser and the girl's voice sounds beautiful she doesn't look ugly ¿who cares if she's black? this is not like the Anne Boleyn situation is just a fictional character like Scarjo playing agent Motoko on GITS only stupid people complained about that.

I didn't have an idea who she was so I search for some information and she looks a good choice for the role.

And let's be honest people do not have enough material to honestly judge if this is going to be bad or good, was just a few seconds and wasn't bad.

I'm not going to see this because is not the kind of movie I'm interested in and because Melissa Mccarthy is in it, and that woman sucks ass in every movie I have seen with her.

I get the hate with the blue fairy on Pinocchio they just choose a woman who looks like a heavyweight lifter tranny, the kind you will find in prison and makes her cellmates have a really bad time, but his one doesn't look miscast.

And don't call me libtard and other stupid shit, anyone who knows my activity on this site knows I'm totally against PC shit but all this hate feels kinda racist.

Racism. Plain and simple.

Quite simply, many people were not just in love with Ariel but also in love with how she looked. So when you get a chance to see a loved cartoon come to life, you don't want just some pretty face speaking the lines. You want as close an approximation as possible.

What if you could enter a Star Trek style holodeck and recreate some old cartoon you loved but with real people? Wouldn't you make them as close as possible? It isn't racism.

When different genders or races play classic roles on the stage, it is great/fine. You are there for the performance. A recreation of a specific thing that everyone is familiar with visually is a different matter. Portraying this discontent as racism is a sure-fire way for the production company to have a free publicity vehicle AND they can even skimp on the cost of whatever aspect of production they like. If anyone complains about the writing or casting, they are automatically a racist and the enemy. Money saved and fans marginalized. With the small cost of fanning the embers of race relations trouble.

I'll bet this new girl does great. But she was not cast for looking like what everyone knows. What if they cast a great actress who was morbidly fat? Will you be a fat hater?

reply

Yeah, sure.

I don't know men, are you in love with Ariel? I mean why is that important to adult males? Is just a cartoon character, to be honest, I think the race swapping is really bad on Interview with the Vampire because you need to change the setting and even history to have a black Louis I think that was a terrible decision and the anger is justified, but Ariel is just a cartoon mermaid, don't have a complex history and an adult fanbase and more important race don't play a role on the history of the character, so who gives a f***?

reply

Because it’s woke. Because it’s politically correct. Because it’s completely unnecessary.

Because no one wanted this, and they’re sick and tired of this revolting, relentless live action remake trend that Disney is refusing to stop. Because live action remakes always suck, and the original is always better.

reply

The executives at Disney want this. I want it. I'm certain some other people want this.

You should stop speaking for rational people.

reply

The question was asked, and I answered. I’ll say whatever I want. I do not answer to you.

reply

A question was asked, and you threw out a falsehood. Go ahead and lie and put ppl's words and opinions in their mouths for them if you want. But people will call you out.

reply

Let them challenge me. I didn’t say anything false, man in the mirror. People will call you out too, like I am.

reply

If this was an attack against Disney's obsession with regurgitating old classics in the form of uninspired and soulless remakes to make a few bucks instead of creating new classics and tale new stories I'm all for it, but people are attacking a young actress who may be talented and put a lot of effort on her performance and only for her race that's what im reading on Youtube and on MC people complaining about the black actress I think is unfair because Ariel is not a profound and complex character like Louis from the vampire Chronicles in which case I totally understand and support the people who are angry with this new version and I'm too but Ariel is just a cartoon mermaid WTH

reply

I honestly really don’t care about the casting. Disney stopped earning my money long ago with this trend.

This actress may be very talented. I have nothing against her. In fact, I even asked if Disney was planning to change the setting at least, and no one answered that. However, I do understand where people are coming from when it comes to changing certain characters for the sake of changing them, which it sounds like this is the case here. I also like my casting to make sense for the story, and I have no respect for virtue signaling. I’m just here to stand up for them because of the labels being thrown at people who don’t agree with the liberal elitist Disney and Hollywood. I have seen no racist attacks here - Disagreeing with a casting choice does not equal racism.

White man sees history through the white of his eye.

WOW...YEAH...IF YOU DON'T GET IT...THESE FUCKERS ARE REALLY STRETCHING.

reply

She could step into "Splice" sequel with Adrien Brody and not even need CGI or makeup to look the part.

reply

Imagine you created a story and then you were told they are changing your characters color.
The authors put a lot of time an effort into their imaginations.

I had a friend who was able to produce a low budget movie , everyone loved the script , it was just a simple life time movie, few characters. The story was personally written.

So my friend is all excited people were interested. Then they tell him if he wants to move forward, they are changing one character to black.

He felt like his story was being changed,

The original story is public domain. The 1989 Disney cartoon is Disney property. Which of the Disney creators feels betrayed by this latest version?

reply

Which of the Disney creators feels betrayed by this latest version?

No where in his reply did he say that.

Why do you twist peoples words?

He makes a good point and you reply with absolutely nothing to do with what he said.

You still haven't answered my original question. You won't because you are hypocrite. You will probably reply with somehting I didn't say as well.

reply

I said betrayal, I didn't say anyone else did. Go play victim somewhere else. I did answer your question. If you don't like it, then find some way to deal with it.

reply

I said betrayal, I didn't say anyone else did

I know you did. Unlike you I can read. I asked where did the previous poster you replied to say that. You just twist words and answer nothing.

You do seem to have a hard time comprehending simple words and phrases. Would you like me to put it in picture form for you to make it easier.

Go play victim somewhere else.

How is asking questions to your nonsense playing victim?

I did answer your question

No you haven't. *Goes and checks* nope still no answer.

If you don't like it, then find some way to deal with it.

Nope. I will just keep replying to your gibberish and nonsense.

reply

HE MADE NO POINT...HE WROTE A STORY,GOT LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE IT MADE INTO A FILM AND LOST HIS SHIT OVER A NON WHITE ACTOR.

reply

I dont get it, why the hate?

It's all the result of racism/sexism/White Supremacy. As is the case in regards to everything else we find disagreeable

reply

I never have said something like that I think are a lot of cases where the anger is justified as I have already mentioned in Interview with the vampire which I would like to see an adaptation in the form of a TV series and now is completely ruined because a black Louis is not going to work, they are going to need to change the setting and history to make that and I'm not watching it, the black queen Viking in Vallhala is just stupid as F*** and even when I'm a fan of the original show I'm not watching this either as many others for those reasons.

But Ariel is an MTF mermaid, why this character should be important to no one besides little girls is beyond me

reply

A Chinese Superman would be hilarious. Especially if press leaks were to reveal that The CGI department was compelled to enhance the bulge in his underroos, so that it appeared that the actor actually had a bulge to begin with
