Cast the inevitable Hollywood remake

We all know it will come but if it HAD to be remade, who would be your ideal cast?

reply

Don't worry, this crap heap won't get a remake.

reply

Fox is fighting for the rights to remake so it will get a Hollywood remake.

reply

I don't understand why they'd waste the energy to fight for the rights, it's a pretty paint by numbers zombie flick, but with trains.

reply

I don't think so.

reply

Matt Damon as the father. Clover field actress as the pregnant lady.

reply

It'll be remade and it'll be a hit, just like the original. Stay bitter.

Non-English dubbed foreign releases don't always fare too well at the box office, especially Asian movies. There have been studies about this, some that are not really flattering of western moviegoers. One article I remember had someone say they just simply couldn't relate to a cast of characters of Asian origin.

If the film is remade in the next year or two, likely it'll go something like this:

- Father: Ben Affleck/Tom Cruise/Jake Gyllenhal/Ryan Reynolds/Matt Damon/Bradley Cooper/Mark Ruffalo/Brad Pitt, etc

- Tough guy: The Rock/Channing Tatum/Chris Hemsworth/Chris Pratt/Anthony Mackie/Tom Hardy

- Pregnant lady: Emma Stone/Zoe Saldana/Brie Larson/Saoirse Ronan/Rachel McAdams

- Train company boss: Stanley Tucci/Billy Crudup/Michael Keaton/Russell Crowe, etc

reply

The train company boss has John Turturro or Paul Giamatti written all over it.

reply

where will the train go?

reply

Kentucky

"You'll be taking a soul train straight to a disco inferno where you never can say goodbye!"

reply

The father will be played by Chris Pratt with Ell from stranger things playing his daughter.

The baseball kid- John Boyega
Pregnant woman- Marion Cotillard
Her husband- Bruce Willis
Dickhead train conductor- Sam Neill

reply

Hollywood would never properly remake this. The father (Christian Bale) would live and save the day.
