The second season was better than the first. I don't know what to tell you. Different people take to different things. What you like I may not. That is how the world works.
I've just finished the first season and I'd like to know as well. It wasn't terrible, but I don't know that I liked it. It seems very dated and also kind of a darker, more adult take on Miranda Hart's self-titled TV show, Miranda. Except that Miranda is better imo.
You have an opinion about it, but because it does not chime with the opinions of others you somehow think your opinion is wrong...to such a degree that you think you should watch it again to see if your opinion changes....?
Why cant you just stand by your own opinion? You liked it but didnt think it was a masterpiece. That's fine. Why the need to seek validation from others? It's your opinion dude. Yours. Thats it.
The purpose of my question was to find out if I was missing something in this show. To me, it was a good show, but it was not a remarkable show deserving of all the praise it has been receiving.
Also, have you ever watched a movie or show and the first time it didn't really click and then after another watch it did? The flicks Dazed and Confused and Super Troopers were like that - I didn't get the hype at first and then it struck.
Or, it's like some shows where you see or hear things differently after another viewing - like picking up the finer subtleties you overlooked the first time.
But you said you liked it so what's wrong with just leaving it at that? That is YOUR opinion of the show.
You indicated that you felt you were missing something because others liked it more than you. Your thread title itself asks for help.
Sure you can watch it again if you want, but i dont really see why you feel the need to. Because it comes across as you feeling inferior because your opinion does not match that of others, to be honest
Maybe when you get older you will get it that not all people immediately see things in the same way at first. And that is partly what I was looking for - if there was a particular way to view this show to find its remarkable nature that I was missing.
It's like listening to a song and the first time missing instruments that you hear later on. Or looking at a piece of art and then while changing angles you then see something different.
And please ignore my future posts if you are going to come in and be insulting by suggesting a person is "inferior" to others and the like.
You clearly say you liked the movie but because other people liked it more you feel like you have to watch it again to see if you missed something. That just makes no sense at all.
Had you not liked it, I would maybe understand why you would want to give it a second chance.
Whichever way you slice it, it's a strange reaction to ask people to help you understand why you did not like it as much as others.
Are you a man? I think there is a huge gender gap in appreciation for this show. Women, specifically white women, seem to like it. The rest of us, not so much.
I think the first season is really worth it but the second one felt a lot more generic and bland, sort of like they hadn’t thought it would be so successful and they churned out a second season as a money grab
