What About the Grandfather Paradox?

If you travel back in time to stop or fix a bad event and succeed,
then the bad event never happened.

If it never happened then why did you time travel back in the first place?

You can't travel back because what you stopped never happened.

I can't wait to see how they get around that.

They will do what all shows do now; ignore physics and logic.

Well the Hindenburg still exploded, the 3 that went back seem to be the only ones who remember the original timeline. All the ones in the alternate timeline know is that people broke into their lab, stole a time machine and went back to 1937. So to them they still sent that crew back to try to stop them.

IN this show, tho, they weren't going back to stop a specific bad event, tho; they were just following Flynn to 1937, with no idea what his plan was.

Even tho they changed history, the changes they made weren't big enough to take away their reason for going backward --- in the 'new timeline' the Hindenberg disaster didn't happen; a few minor changes were made in society because of that... Lucy no longer has a sister for some reason-- but that change still didn't erase Flynn nor his crime of stealing the time-machine, and thus they still had a reason for going backward to chase him.

Sometimes fires don't go out when you're done playin' with them.
