Spoiler about the plot giveaway

What was the point of them being TWINS? Its not like anyone could recognize either of them, the brothers always wore masks.
It literally gives away the twist in the first 5 minutes of screen time. It was too on the nose imho.

reply

I didn’t think this part spoiled the twist. Being twins suggested that they had the same powers / strength, so they both could have been heroes if they had wanted

reply

Being twins set it up for the switheroo part too early, if they were just brothers it'd be a different story.

reply

But people knew they were special since they were kids, likely driving the use of masks as they got older.

reply

who would know? the people that killed their parents?

reply

Isn't that enough? To hide from people, likely persons unknown, who have proven through action that they are willing to straight up murder innocent people just to kill you and your sibling?

You're being purposefully dense and it's off-putting.

reply

Nowhere in the beginning they say or show their faces, they could've been fraternal brothers for all I care. They could've been aliens from a different planet but dont give me that crap about everyone knowing. There's literally fanboys for both Samaritan and Nemesis throughout the whole movie and not a single one of them ever got a glimpse of their true identity except the main kid.

reply

So they don't have 2 randoms having the same genetic materials.

He said at some point that he is a genetic freak so twins being both genetic freaks makes more sense.

And to stress that people can choose to follow different paths even if they start with identical backgrounds.

reply

They could be fraternal twins or just brothers that dont have the same face duuuh.

I agree it set up the "surprise" way too early.

I actually thought it would've been way more effective had Joe confessed to being Nemesis right from the get-go, while eating ice cream. Heck why else would he have vanished all those years? Saving it for the big battle surprised no one.

You get the same redemption arc but without the lame "gotcha" thrown into the mix
