Doug Bradley has the same problem as Robert England

Their problem is age and not really having the stamina to sit in a makeup chair for hours for their iconic role, in addition to the physicality involved with their roles. Granted Pinhead was not as active as Freddy who would get into physical confrontations with his victims, however both roles require some aspect of physicality. The problem is that both developed their own cult following and have become heavily tied with their role which makes it hard to cast a suitable replacement for the role, in addition to the quality writing of the script. I think fans need to come to the realization that their horror icons are going to hang it up for various reason, the biggest one being age, with them being replaced for future installments. I also think that it is up to casting departments to find a suitable replacement as well to carry on these franchises. I have just seen the Pin Head for this film and he looks like a suitable replacement, hopefully the script is well developed as well to carry on the franchise and not reflect a blatant cash grab by the studio. However I feel the latter may be more plausible.

His problem: he's too old. Did I get it?

Yes you did, I think at a certain point these guys are unable to maintain the stamina they had 30 yrs. ago. Doug Bradley is 62, that's a lot of work for his age and the lousy scripts being generated for the Hellraiser series as of late. I also think it would be hard to see Robert England running around as Freddy as well.

I think he's more sick of the franchise being buried by Dimension and would rather not participate in cheap loophole movies. I'm sure he'd sign up for a moderately budgeted theatrically released Hellraiser in a heartbeat.

The problem is they don't know when to quit with these sequels. I thought they were going to reboot the franchise so it will be released again in the theaters.

I wouldn't be surprised if he dislikes the quality of the last few sequels and that was a factor in him declining to return.

I'd be more surprised if he LIKED the quality of the last few sequels.

He's only 61. Thats really not that old. Christopher Lee was still doing decently active roles until 93 years old.

Pinhead isnt a very active role either. Usually he just shows up and stands there looking scary. He doesnt even walk around or move much usually.

I think Bradley is just sick of the sloppy sequels that the studio is throwing together to retain the franchise rights. From stuff I've seen, it looks like he isnt done with the franchise, hes just not interested in the current stuff.

Doug had been replaced twice. He'll never play Pinhead again. Why would the producers bother? We've already accepted two other people, who cares if there's going to be a third? Kane Hodder was replaced as Jason for FvJ and they didn't ask him back for the reboot. They've replaced Warwick Davis as Leprechaun.. I don't think they are aching to bring him back.

The franchise is so old now that there are more people who haven't seen Hellraiser than have. These people are whom the producers want to appease. Its going to be cheaper for them to get someone new. It is what it is.

I don't think Doug or Robert want to do it anymore. These guys have plenty of money and both more so with Hellraiser really went downhill. Ford played Solo in his early 70's and will play Indy one more time in the next few years. Freddy and Pinhead not the most physical roles. It sounds more like a lack of desire. I did see a interview with Robert and he said if he was asked and it was something interesting for the series he would be game.

You're all forgetting the fact that Bradley wasn't even able to read the script this time. Yeah, he rejected the role for Revelations because he didn't like the script, but he didn't have a chance to read the script for Judgment, because he didn't agree to sign some contract. So if they're going to make another one of these, it's quite possible that Bradley will return. Especially if Clive Barker was in on it.
