This stupid show is gonna kill Tony

To set up what a bad ass Carter is in attempt to paint him in Jack's league. Between not giving Tony a fleshed out background of what he's been up to beyond "merc" or direction of plans he may have for future story arcs, and then bringing him back suddenly after his abrupt dismissal, the stage was set for a grim ending for our hero. They made sure to work in some dialog about him not caring about the dire fate of his target objectives, villain lite. Then they showed him casually assassinate a downed man, being henchmen or not, that's full blown tv villain behavior. Tony is as sure as dead. I will never like Carter if he kills Tony.

If they do that, and I agree it feels like they're going that way... it will piss off fans for good. It will end this horrid spin off. It will end 24 on the darkest note and Corey Hawkins will be seen as the massive blemish on the franchise he is becoming~

reply

"Massive blemish"? Seriously? It's a pretty good show---I wish people would stop whining about and picking over every little damn thing they think is wrong with it.

I stand by what I said. He simply wasn't good in the role. I get that he had large shoes to fill, but the show was like a skit of the original. Even when the original dragged it had a charm in its cast and writing to hold one over. This had the poorest cast I have seen in awhile. Every performance was phoned it.

reply

Fortunately, Tony not only survives but suffers a broken arm, he'll definitely be back in a future edition of the show.

With Designated Survivor cancelled, I could see Kiefer and Carlos coming back

reply

Nice find, I had no idea it was cancelled. I lost interest after they killed off the main bad guys late season 1/early season 2. It's time for 24 to give Jack Bauer a happy ending, one that he deserves after years of hard work for his country.

reply

I know they were holding out for a movie. I still hope they get one. With Kief back out of work, he might be more motivated to return to his crowd pleasing cash cow. The producers are now retooling the show to be some death row lawyer thing. That idea is going nowhere. But I really don't want a return of the show. I want to see Jack on the big screen beside James Bond and Ethan Hunt where he belongs.

reply

see with DS cancelled I wonder if they even go in that direction. Unless Jack Bauer is the defendant.
