Just watched it on Amazon ... not so good.

I don't know why I watched this except that I liked the first 3 original movies with Noomi Rapace. I should have known this would not be anything like those movies, or even the remake with Daniel Craig. It was terrible.

At every level the plot was so unbelievable, all of it going back to Lisbeth Salander's family life, with the abusive father. Then she is superhuman, of course, and she can do anything with her cellphone.

Since Michael Nyqvist tragically died of lung cancer in June of 2017 I suppose it was obvious that they could not recreate the greatness of the original movies, and Noomi Rapace would probably not want to take part in a new movie, especially since the plot was so off the wall.

I'd just say, stay away from it. I saw it for free on Hulu and just wish I had not wasted the time. I would rate it 3/10.

I'm watching it right now. These are my thoughts. "Oh....... this is terrible. No wonder it did poorly." Seriously, it's bad.

Boy isn't that original trilogy just f'n tits? They nailed it the first time. They're never gonna make these stories shine again. I thought they had enough going on with the lackluster Dragon Tattoo to salvage for a meatier sequel but this is just terrible.

I probably would never have watched the first movies if I had not been told they were very good by a long time friend. Wow, they Noomi Rapace movies were perfect for this genre. Gripping, tense, not completely over the top, plausible and with great writing and characters. It is hard to have 3 movies in a series all be winners, but I think those movies were all far above average.

With the death of Nyquist and of course Larson there was little chance of this being worth a damn, but they tried to jam this full of every conceivable twist of nonsense it was ridiculous and terrible.
