Loud
This film was very loud.
shareMaybe it's just the movie theater that you went to
I always wear loop earplugs at the theaters. they can be loud at times
Ok, what I mean is the soundtrack was ludicrously over-bearing, non-stop & LOUD. There wasn't a moment of silence I can recall in the entire movie. How can you get scared if someone is all the time droning a sappy melodramatic orchestral stew in your ears ?
shareDamn that sucks, Eggers should have taken notes from No Country For Old Men.
Let the narrative and visuals speak for themselves so to speak
Those two films are completely different in style, and don't necessarily call for the same type of score. I haven't seen this Nosferatu yet, so can't comment on its effeiveness, or lack thereof. There have been numerous attempts to score the 1922 Nosfeatu, with bigger and smaller scores. The 1979 version had a fairly minimalsist score. I thought it was effective.
sharei also found this film louder than average.
there were times where the volume swell was increasing to the point of "i am deaf now"
