Get the original cast members to play themselves? Sure they would have aged a bit but as we know from The Irishman, CGI can de-age a person. Heck Francis Ford Coppola was able to make Marlon Brando look like a 70 year old man, even a good makeup artist would have been able to make them look like they did in the 1950’s.
Just recasting the actors totally took me out of the movie.

shareThere is no doubt that Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley are very, very dead. Lucy died in 1989 at the age of 78 (She would be 111 today). Desi died in 1986 at the age of 69 (He would be 105 today). Vivian died in 1979 at the age of at the age of 70 (She would be 113 today). William died in 1966 at the age of 79 (He would be 135 today.) These are all easily checked.
