The Ending [spoilers]

so the ending suggests that
now dinosaurs are free-roaming an taking over the earth in the next installment
, but wait, that can't be.
there's only one dinosaur per species, so they won't be able to reproduce. what's going to happen instead is the dinosaurs will cause some damages, but sooner or later get caught by the military etc. and again it's up to dr. wu to do something stupid (cloning a new batch of dinos and let them escape) .
thoughts?

The title of the thread has the word spoilers in them, so I am not going to bother to use spoiler tags. Too much effort.

Anyway, you are right. There are only like 1 dino per species. However, they still have loads of DNA that they can use to create new dinos. Dr Wu took alot of that DNA with him in a suitcase and alot of the dinos have already been transported to their new owners. Since everyone has their hands on real dinos and their DNA, everyone can now clone them. Which means we might see other companies try to set up their own parks or something. The technology is out now. Colin Trevorrow mentioned this a while ago back with the release of Jurassic World in 2015 :

“I really like the idea that this group of geneticists aren’t the only people who can make a dinosaur,” Trevorrow told us. “You know, when you think of the differences between Apple and PC – the minute something goes open-source, there are all kinds of entities and interests that may be able to utilise that technology.”
“We are the Alpha now,” Trevorrow said, “and we dominate all of the other animals. But when you throw in animals that were the Alpha on this planet for far longer than we’ve ever existed in with us… I don’t really know who’s in charge there.”

This is what he said back in 2015, when asked about the possibilities of a sequel.
So yeah the dinos that are on the loose now won't REALLY pose a mankind ending threat, but the DNA that is out there, and the technology, might.

the 3rd one will be titled JW:
Planet of the Dinosaurs
Dr. Wu has really gone downhill after quitting SVU...

It would take about ten minutes to program an armada of drones to fly around the Earth and blow up all dinosaurs. It would never be a problem.

reply

True. We humans have enough power to kill all dinosaurs in this day and age. They would not be a mankind ending threat.

I bet they have some kind of protection - "don't save from exploding island" isn't mutually exclusive to "don't kill or capture". Anyway, who says there was only one of each? I saw a few Compies during the dino escape, and possibly two of the Styracosaurs?

reply

true, but compies and styracosaurs won't "conquer" the earth and erase mankind, if they breed. they definately had only one specimen of the dangerous carnivores, such as the t-rex or the raptors ("blue is the last of their kind").
