Just Awful..Felt like feminist propoganda at times.

Could have been as good as Under the Red Hood if they just cut out the Batwoman crap. Her inclusion got in the way of a deep story about batman and nightwing conflict. A story about Nightwing's struggle to get out of batmans shadow but still having to become him would have made for a much more interesting movie. I thought it was cool that Batman was turned evil but that whole twist was just executed poorly. Batwoman sections just felt forced and unnessary, the fact that she was gay just felt heavy handed. I would have focused more on Batwing since its a character that I barely know anything about, they barely gave him any screen time or character development, His sections just felt rushed. Another issue was the way they killed Damiens Clone, so lame..his motivation was much more interesting than whattever Talia had in store. Such a waste. Also Where was Jason Todd and Tim Drake in this movie? So dissapointed in this movie. I dont think DC animated movies will ever get better than under the redhood, Maybe the killling joke movie can redeem them

didnt feel like feminist anything. but i agree that the movie seemed like it didnt need batwoman. If they were going to include a character like her they should have made her more integral to the plot. The whole Grayson working as Batman and fighting his mentor was pretty much the movie, she seemed tacked on, as did Batwing. If you are going to add a character make it more about them or have a good reason they are there. All she really did was fight a random female assassin who got away and then Talia Al Ghul who wasnt going to die anyway. Just seemed superfluous. Though not as superfluous as Batwing, who didnt seem to know his father at all, Lucius would have done almost anything for Bats and yet he had a good old whinge that he wouldnt, just made me wonder why the hell he was even there.

One point that mainstream feminists have been trying to make for years is that *that* is how life feels to women ALL THE TIME. They're half the population, yet still pitifully underrepresented in media.

What you're feeling is the result of simply working to bring things up to par. Imagine how it would feel if every movie was like the new Ghostbusters for your entire life.

No, no it's not. "Up to par" would mean women enjoy action movies as much as men. Historically action movies starring women haven't performed quite as well as when they star certain men.

They're half the population, yet still pitifully underrepresented in media.

This is rather disingenuous considering that majority of day time network television is almost 100% geared toward women. The same applies to a lot of night time dramas.

What you're actually discussing is market influence... a lot of material aimed at women doesn't quite generate the same capital as certain media aimed at men within the same demographic, which is why comic books, video games and action movies are geared towards men.

That's not to say that there's not a market for women, because obviously the young teen, female demographic love stuff like Hunger Games and Twilight.

But Twilight is the anti-feminist ^^
Never finished Hunger Games.

Buffy is the better example. Strong female lead and you got a lesbian in it too. And I guess that show was watched by males and females.
If that's feminist propaganda in the opinion of the TO too?
