Just Awful..Felt like feminist propoganda at times.

Could have been as good as Under the Red Hood if they just cut out the Batwoman crap. Her inclusion got in the way of a deep story about batman and nightwing conflict. A story about Nightwing's struggle to get out of batmans shadow but still having to become him would have made for a much more interesting movie. I thought it was cool that Batman was turned evil but that whole twist was just executed poorly. Batwoman sections just felt forced and unnessary, the fact that she was gay just felt heavy handed. I would have focused more on Batwing since its a character that I barely know anything about, they barely gave him any screen time or character development, His sections just felt rushed. Another issue was the way they killed Damiens Clone, so lame..his motivation was much more interesting than whattever Talia had in store. Such a waste. Also Where was Jason Todd and Tim Drake in this movie? So dissapointed in this movie. I dont think DC animated movies will ever get better than under the redhood, Maybe the killling joke movie can redeem them

Trolls used to be inventive on this site. Try harder.

It's hot... but not as hot as the night Johnny Viti got married...

reply

Ugh really dude? How am I trolling when these are my honest thoughts and opinion. If you don't agree say so but don't try and discredit some else's opinion just because you don't agree. Fuq off dude

reply

Well I either thought you were an idiot, or a troll - I gave you the benefit of the doubt.

There was no 'feminist propaganda' at all. Please, tell me what you thought were displays of feminism and/or propaganda. Any time a strong woman is in something these days who isn't there for the lead male to bang, some troll screams 'feminist propaganda'.

Also, her sexuality was severely UNDERplayed - she flirted with Montoya in a bar. That was it, literally. The only time in the whole movie. They didn't even have the classic

Grayson: I have a thing for redheads
Batwoman: Sorry, you're not my type.

scenario to further hammer it home.

They never even mentioned her sexuality or that she was kicked out of the marines because of her sexuality, Batman said it was because of the trauma of being kidnapped and her sister killed (which happened years before FYI).

Totally agree, this movie was no more femenist propaganda than other Batman movies have been misogynist propaganda. (probably even less whan I think about it).

"Any time a strong woman is in something these days who isn't there for the lead male to bang, some troll screams 'feminist propaganda'."

Amen.

People just reveal their prejudice and insecurities by what they choose to focus on.

Nice exaggeration. And by strong, I'm assuming you mean that they must take on the physical characteristics of males or they just don't quite cut it? It's in the majority of action movies these days except in the real world, it's not happening. Strong women can no longer mean emotionally strong or they'll only be partially strong. They need that physically skilled aspect to them too, to be complete. They also need to be working Moms. Let's not forget that.

Aside from that, this film didn't push what the OP suggested since it's a comic book movie that's had "strong women" in them for ages so one should expect this.

I think YOU are the biggest idiot here, trying to discredit someone elses opinion by callinghim a troll and an idiot.. Back off. It is feminist propaganda and you know it very well. If you don't you're a brainwashed example of todays idiot society.

reply

The stupid is strong in this one.

reply

Wow. Good move, there.

Trying to discredit someone by doing exactly what you accuse them of.

Well, not "exactly". He did it with intelligence and wit.

reply

Today if you have a negative opinion on these subjects youre either a troll or a hater, but dont worry OP, MANY people share your opinion on this, including me.

reply

Ofc, the world's full of idiots, why should it be any different here?

Well you do have a point. Those parts of the movie could have been focused on and would have been a good story. I think Batwoman and Batwing left out could have cleared out the way for a more interesting piece. But I also didn't mind all the different characters appearing.

I also won't say about the feminist propaganda, but the fact they just kept pushing about Kate's sexuality was too much. I hate it when movies try to get on people's 'soft' sides by making a character homosexual or whatever.

A good death is its own reward

reply

did you also hate the way they kept pushing Bruce's heterosexuality too by having him sleep with those women? Or Nightwing flirting on the phone with Kori... Man, it's like straight propaganda or something.

She flirted with another girl, that was it... what exactly was pushed?

It's hot... but not as hot as the night Johnny Viti got married...

reply

I hated it. All of it. They didn't need to show Bruce with those women. I didn't like that line about Kori feeling Dick, either. On top of all that, Kate Kane's sexuality being smeared in my face while I'm trying to enjoy a Batman movie. This is supposed to be a PG-13 Batman film. They might as well go the whole nine yards. Make it NC-17. Damien can drop a few F bombs. Gorier death for Mad-hatter. Kate Kane can scissor with Renee.

Pushing heterosexuality? What? It's the norm. That will never change.

Wow you are an idiot

I could have done without all those points either.
I found it quite bold of Kori to say she almost forgot how Dick feels since it's been weeks ^^
Was totally distracting me at that moment xD

thepennyshowman we get it, you're gay and this is the only dc movie targeted at you. Guess what, you suck.

reply

No response that would actually rebut his points, so you play the mudslinging card.

Yup.

Troll.

And not a very bright one.

reply

Kate's sexuality wasn't "forced" at all. She was flirting in a bar with a woman. Which is exactly what Bruce would do.

reply

72 minutes of ham-handed 'diversity.'

This was awful, like most of these WB Animations.

reply

I think they had way too many characters, arcs and storylines for a 72 minute film. Had they cut the characters in half it would have made for a much better film. Cut-out Batwing, Damien and Batwoman, and instead focus on the new villain, Talia, Nightwing and Batman.

reply

This movie was PC, whiny propaganda. Period.

reply

Diversity =/= "PC".

reply

I saw no propaganda at all. Actually, if that was the case then Batman wouldn't have needed to save her 3 or 4 times in the opening fight scene - propaganda would've had her be the better fighter and saved him several times, but that wasn't the case. Her being gay comes up 3 times and they were quick and natural.

Nightwing talking dirty in the middle of a fight and saying "I'll remind you what I feel like" was way more forced (and random) than anything Batwoman did. Seems like you're either trolling or paranoid. This is best movie I've seen in their new universe, I still prefer the old one.

I never saved anything for the swim back.

reply

I can't even watch this *beep* after the trailers... Pathetic super stronk batwoman im so tough cause im a dyke omg instead of making a good film they turned it into leftist dream 2016.

reply

Try to stop being stupid if you can. I know it is hard.

reply

So, in other words, you didn't watch it, but you felt that you were entitled to say how bad it was, in a very specific manner.

Yup.

Not a troll.

Idiot.
