Years ago girls were being married off at 14 or 15 after hitting puberty (i.e. bodies ready to have children).

Then social and financial situations changed over time where we didn’t need to kick them off the homestead that young.

So society set an arbitrary date (that differs per state and country) to prevent adult men and women from approaching them.

In most cases, that’s 18.

So once the clock hits midnight on their 18th birthday (or whatever the local arbitrary date may be) those ladies are now legally adults and free to be approached and admired openly.

Even though many have been shagging before that because it’s legal for guys and girls under 18 (or whatever the local arbitrary date may be) to do that with them.
