Inquiry about Hopper

At the end of Season One, we see Eleven being sucked away. No one knows exactly what happened. How is it that Hopper knew to leave Eggo's for her in the woods. How did he know she was alive and that she'd show up there.

Mike saw her after the incident at the school, through the window, which would explain why he never gave up believing she was still alive. Who knows? Maybe he told Hopper about it, who put the Eggos in the woods nearby on the off chance she might be out there. Otherwise I can't think why he'd do that.

Can be explained by the hunter in the woods who had a run-in with her, as seen in the season 2 flashback.

So the hunter reported her to the police, which was Hopper, thus he knew immediately what was going on? Makes sense. Thanks.

Yeah it's not explicitly stated, but it's a reasonable enough explanation to me.
