Do you see Billy becoming a good guy in S3?

Similar to how Steve was a jerk in S1 but turned into a nice lovable guy in S2, i see Billy going down the same road. Cause at the end of S2 he looked at Max as if he was sorry for what he did in a way, it was kinda hard to read exactly what he was thinking but thats what i got from it.

Yes there's scope for redemption there. But that's been done before.

I thought he was set up for being much more of a villain than he ended up being.

So season three I would like to see him and Mrs Wheeler having a torrid home wrecking affair and him being even more of a sadistic crazy bastard who meets a suitably gruesome and nasty end.

When they decided Steve would join the good guys instead of being an asshоle this season, they needed a replacement. So I think it's less likely they'll go a similar route with Billy - although you never know. I thought that look on his face when he and Max made eye contact was interesting. You wondered what was going through his mind. He didn't seem angry, more like regretful. But again you never know.

Billy may have woken up from the sedative, saw Will's map plastered all over the wall, and discovered the demogorgon carcass while looking for something cold to put on his head. Or he was still unconscious and Hopper woke him up when he and Joyce came back. Who is this strange guy passed out on the floor? He would've gotten interrogated and told to shut up about the events of that evening, unless he wanted to be charged with breaking and entering. Either way he realizes something very bizarre was going on and his stepsister knows all about it. He may be doing a lot of snooping around in season 3 trying to figure out what it was. Which could cause serious problems, like endangering Eleven's cover story.

This was more of the arc Steve was originally intended to take, but that was changed after interaction with the actors.

Billy still may have redemption, but feedback from the Duffer brothers indicate they want him to be villainous - at least in the short term.

no that would defeat the reason Billy was created ,Season 3 he might want revenge.

As others have said, they already used that character arc. If they are using Billy as the doppelgänger of Steve, it would be silly to have him follow the exact same path. He will or should go down the self destructive path.
