More proof you can't make a ghostbusters movie without the actual ghostbusters in it.

Bill Murray's presence and charm was the only redeeming feature to this snoozefest.

Egon was not the main character in the original, so writing a movie with his granddaughter as the protagonist was an unfortunate turn.

Swapping New York for a dirt farm was also a faux pas.

I actually preferred the chick version.

I thought the cameos by Aykroyd, Murray and Hudson were weaker than the rest of the film.

I enjoyed it, it was a lot of fun. Obviously, Phoebe should have been played by the incomparable marvelous ridiculously talented one and only Zendaya, her salary at this point would be more than the budget of the whole film. But the film would have made at least a billion dollars. Her films are making more than any film star in movie history. She is being historic.
