Would love to see a Slimmer spin-off film. It could start with the living person who died and became Slimmer. Showing their backstory. Then moving forward to showing all the wild mis-adventures slimmer the ghost gets himself into!

Maybe from today's current actors they could get either Kevin James or Zack Galifianakis to play Slimmer.
Yeah, Jim was suppose to be Venkman. When Jim died the role went to Bill Murray. The Slimer ghost was a tribute to Jim, and what indeed suppose to be his ghost. So, Jim Belushi was (in a way) in the original Ghostbusters film. Kind of amazing when you think about it. The Slimer character was so popular that it got its own show, and was the poster ghost for ecto-cooler which lasted until the mid to late 1990s!

Meanwhile he gets backlash from other ghosts for living with people who bust them.....he's sold out and has to figure out what to do.
Would have tied the cartoon and movie together much better.
