Think Dan Aykroyd/Ray is going to be the only original cast member to return?

Maybe Ernie Hudson as well but Bill Murray is impossible to cast since he never wanted to do a third movie and Harold Ramis is no longer around.

I can be content with just Ray and Winston. Not sure about whether Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, or Rick Moranis will return either. I hope they at least have Oscar as a Ghostbuster. I would also like Carlie from Extreme Ghostbusters.

reply

Problem about having the original cast is that they're too old, so need young blood.

reply

Can see Ray training new Ghostbusters.

I've always thought Ray is the only one that should come back anyhow. Being the occult specialist and the most passionate about the ghost busting in the first place, he's the only member of the squad that warrants a logical inclusion in a future story. Egon was just a passionate nerd and Venkman was just around for laughs and unfortunately for Winston, they wrote him as "the extra guy".

But I predict they're gonna bring back every surviving cast member for at least a cameo. I think they might even bring back a CGI Ramis. The mayor. The Dickless guy. Everybody who's still alive and some who arne't. Slimer and even Stay Puft. This movie is just gonna be a two hour tribute to the original film.

I can imagine Ray being an occult professor with the new Ghostbusters being his students like with Egon in Extreme Ghostbusters. Venkman would be on World Of The Psychics and living happily with Dana.

reply

See, that's a great idea. Making movies isn't hard.

reply

Extreme Ghostbusters shows you can expand the Ghostbusters franchise without using Venkman. The new film seems to be following the Extreme Ghostbusters route by passing the torch to a younger generation.

reply

Yes, making movies IS hard! Which is why so many of them suck, including "Ghostbusters 2".

Pitching ideas for movies that might work, that's easy. Why some people get big bucks for that I'll never know.

reply

Ghostbusters II doesn't suck. It's hysterical. I think it was a great follow up.

reply

It's nice that at least one person liked it.

reply

Do funny scenes like Ray teaching the new team how to use the proton packs etc.

reply

Or the new team are fans of theirs that track them down or come across their old equipment that has been mothballed.

reply

Bill Murray doesn't need the work.

reply

Murray never liked any of the GB3 scripts over the years and even shredded one of them. If he doesn't like the script for the new film they not adjust it just to please him which can fall into massive issues and you'll end up with something absolute garbage.

reply

The film is in a rock and a hard place everyone wants it to have Bill Murray but there's the slim chance of it happening.

reply

Would Aykroyd be looked at as a traitor if he's the only original cast member returning?

reply

Have there be funny scenes of Ray teaching the new team how to use proton packs.

reply

Imagine a old retired Ray bringing together rookie Ghostbusters to save a mother and her kids.

reply

I can't see why Ernie Hudson wouldn't come back.

reply

No reason for him not just not the late Harold Ramis and Bill Murray.
