Some people said this guy is scarier than Pennywise!

What losers, eh?

reply

Pennywise wasn't scary at all in the newer movies.

reply

Yes he bloody was, Skarsgard could literally shapeshift! What did Tim Curry have in his arsenal? Oversized teeth, and that was it!

reply

The newer Pennywise was not scary at all. If you were scared, then I can't imagine what your threshold for fear is.

reply

How was the old Pennywise "scary"? Do tell.

reply

I don't find either one that scary. Tim Curry was better, but not necessarily scarier. I thought the clown in Terrifier was a little scarier than both, just because of his mouth and other actions.

reply

pennywise 2017 was boring and annoying. his same stupid >:) face got so dumb after a while. like yes, he's evil, we get it. the tim curry version isn't really scary either, but the fact that he has emotion, charm, and wit makes it creepier: like you could sit down and have a beer with the guy, and then he suddenly eats your face off. also, tim curry's pennywise could shapeshift.

reply

Tim Curry is fucking overrated, he makes people laugh more than scare them. And 2017's Pennywise could shape shift too, are you blind?

reply

no but apparently you are, because you implied tim curry's pennywise could not shapeshift. LOL

"Yes he bloody was, Skarsgard could literally shapeshift! What did Tim Curry have in his arsenal? Oversized teeth, and that was it!"

also, Tim curry makes people laugh. yep, you are right, because he's a fucking clown.

From what I remember, he doesn't change forms in one shot via SFX, he just gets replaced with something else between shots. Skarsgard is actually changing his teeth and his form within shots, especially in the big fight with the Losers. But yes, both change forms, just in different ways.

"also, Tim curry makes people laugh. yep, you are right, because he's a fucking clown."
Most people don't like clowns, it's called coulrophobia, and I would prefer that clowns remain scary. I mean, Curry's "Prince Albert in a can" scene is ludicrous for Pennywise, but if it were an ordinary human clown, then yes, it's a riotous laugh. It just doesn't work for Pennywise.

reply

I thought he was extremely scary in All Hallows' Eve, but not as much in Terrifier.

reply

I feel that in All Hallow's Eve he seemed a little more supernatural, while in Terrifier just seemed to be a twisted human.

Good point

Can't wait for part 2!!!! 😱😱😱😱

I actually thought that Art The Clown was a decent slasher villain.

I saw this once when it first came out, but the scene in the diner stuck with me. He played it with immense charisma. Also one of the deaths, and I bet people who have seen it now which one I mean, stuck with me too.

Whether it's scary or not is open to subjective to the individual. But this was a really enjoyable movie for me.

I think Tim Curry stole the show back then with very little budget. I think his ”best asset” was how he terrorized the kids mentally.

Skarsgard had all the CGI and budget available, he did a good job also, but not even close to him.

reply

I remember when Tim Curry's version was first shown. I'd only ever seen him in 'light' roles. I couldn't believe how good he was as Pennywise!

reply

By a little imo.
