Corden... Yay or nay?

I am an avid James Corden fan, there is not much he can't do. However reading the reviews and some of the other topics I'm getting the impression that the Americans aren't warming to him. Showing how stupid they really are.

Cbs is trying to make Corden into their version of Jimmy Fallon. James is talented but he sucks as a late night host. They had guest hosts and some of them did a good job i wish they went from there instead of going with James Cordon. Reminds me of The Price Is right when they did auditions for hosts and they went with Drew Carey.

reply

nay. too jumpy & fidgety.

I think he is a fat, talentless oaf and I'm embarrassed that he has been forced on the US.

The moron has an OBE... they hand them out like sweets.

You're the idiot.

I honestly don't know why this guy is still on the air. He's not funny at all. Watching him is like the sound of fingernails across a blackboard.

reply

Awful. Worst late night host for a long time.

Not liking James Corden, of all people, is your evidence that Americans are stupid? I agree that British comedians can be funnier and wittier than American comedians, but James Corden is even lower on the funny scale than a mediocre comedian like Michael McIntyre. He's almost Dane Cook tier.

British people have been saying Corden is trash for ages, and he constantly comes up when people talk about the worst comedians in their country. He probably has more detractors in the UK. I used to always use him in arguments as an example to prove not all British comedy is great, long before he was announced as host (even coincidentally on a Craig Ferguson video, where someone made the argument that there were no unfunny British comedians who ever found any success in Britain).

Humor is subjective, but if you're bringing up not liking Corden as a measuring stick to insult people...

I love James Cordon, I am British and I do think there can be a big difference in humour between the US and UK. I have spent a lot of time in the US and it is not that I think one style is better than another I just think they can be very different. In the UK we are more relaxed and self deprecating I believe, where as in the US there are a lot of pre recorded set up "sketch" moments that often make everyone look funny and great rather than silly.
It is hard for James as in Hollywood, it is different again from some other parts of the US and you have to pander to celebs a lot of the time. In the main, they pretend they like to make fun of themselves but the reality most celebs want just to look great in these shows so James has to give them some love. I do think he genuinely loves the stars on the show though for example he talks a lot about Bradley Cooper and he had him on there as well as 2 into the woods co stars Anna Kendrick and Chris Pine, both of which he has openly said he really gets on with and likes, so sometimes when he goes on about loving his guests ...I think he really does.

NAY!

He is an ass licking, slimy turd. I'm just glad he left the UK once all his work dried up.

I'm still in shock that someone so boring and untalented can make it in the USA.

How can you spot a vegan or a feminist? You do not have to, they will tell you.
