Rip not finding out about the abortion and Jamie being responsible for Beth not being able to have kids

Anyone else find it annoying Rip never found out about any of that? He never found out Beth was pregnant with his baby or Jamie being responsible for her being sterilized. I feel like he should have learned about all of that in the final episode, making him coming to Beth's aid even more powerful and giving him even more incentive to kill him.

As a whole it feels like Rip was never in the know about any of the stuff with Beth and Jamie, he was always kept away from it and never even was involved with any conversation about Beth's hatred for Jamie.

I was annoyed by this too, but Beth wanted to kill Jaime herself. If she'd told Rip that'd be it, he'd leave and immediately kill him, like the bull in a china shop he is.

She also said she was going to take his first born but never did.

Yeah i guess, she knew it would have made Rip go and kill him and she wanted to be the one to do it. Still wish she'd left him a note or something before she left to go kill him telling Rip, making him aware of why she has to do this and since she'd have a head start wouldn't have to worry about Rip getting to him first.

As for Jamie's baby, i guess he'd already lost it cause he was hooking up with Sarah and the mother of his baby had nothing to do with him anymore and likely wasn't letting him see his son. So Beth had no reason to do anything since Jamie lost his baby all on his own.

I just watched the first 2 season.. this is my thoughts on Beth’s hatred for Jamie.

Beth should have told Rip she was pregnant and face her father’s anger.

She was no poor lost teen without any options, she just wanted to avoid disappointing her father.

So she wanted to get rid of the problem and she involved her teen brother Jamie.

She chose to kill her unborn child , Jamie could easily have thought it was no deal if she couldn’t have any more children.

Deep down Beth knew she was the only one to blame but she made Jamie pay his whole life for her bad choice.

She acts so tough but she didn’t even have the balls years later to tell Rip she killed their child.

She was a disgusting human being.

She was a disgusting human being.

Agree, she could have been hurt or even hated Jamie a bit for his call on the abortion that *she* wanted, but her hatred was over the top. She planned and connived to drive a wedge between Jamie and the rest of the Duttons, and their father in particular. If she didn't drive Jamie out of the family, John would still be alive. Her illogical hatred caused the loss of the Dutton's land and her father's life.

Now that that's out of the way, I LOVE the character. She was fascinating to watch and the actress just killed the role.

I'm not sure Rip would have killed Jamie unless Beth lied to augment what happened.

While Jamie was the direct reason Beth couldn't have any *more* children in the future, it was Beth who got pregnant and didn't tell Rip he was going to be a father. It was Beth who arbitrarily decided to kill Rip's child in the womb, not Jamie. Even though she would not have wanted to be sterilized, she DID want the abortion. If Jamie had managed to get her a "back alley" abortion anywhere besides the reservation (the only place that required sterilization), Beth would be fine with Jamie but Rip's child would still be dead.

Rip could still be a father with a surrogate, but I don't think Beth would be selfless enough to let Rip father a child without her DNA.

I really think Jaimie got a bad deal his whole life. Everyone (except Kaycee) was terrible to him (including John) all through his life. I was routing for him during that confrontation. Beth is a rotten, nasty, hateful person. John was a dick. Rip is a murderer. There are very few redeemable characters on this show. Even Kaycee crossed some moral lines in this last season.

I was rooting for him during that confrontation.

LOL, my wife and I were too. I wonder how many people rooted for Jamie and not Beth??

And yep, few redeemable characters on this show. My favorite was Mo.
