Red Hand strategy

i think the red hand believes we all oppose them together even if it means our total destruction. i'm going to guess that the red hand leader lost someone due to human collaboration. she is a woman with a mission.

Maybe they naively imagine anarchy would be better than a police state. After all, they haven't personally experienced worse than the situation in their block.

The Raps obviously need the humans for something*. At some point they can't resort to glassing every human because that would be shooting themselves in the foot.

The problem is they empower some humans to make sure the others tow the line. This is humans worse weakness for their survival, the inability to not collaborate to save their own skin.

*It reminds me again how unrealistic the series Falling Skies was at portraying the range of human responses to occupation. Sure there will be groups of outlaws, and resistances, but there will also be those who surrender themselves for some power over their destiny.

They have none... they just want to create chaos in the bloc against the homeland , maybe they were hoping the occupiers would leave if they create enough problems for them to handle.

I felt that they were quite similar to the Islamic terrorists that carried out their terrorist acts regardless of whether any innocents are involved.

Green Zone collaborators live in relative luxury and safety. More importantly, the rest of the population sees it as a a sign of stability, which helps to keep them in line. What the Red Hand wanted to do was guerrilla insurgency- turn the public against the collaborators, destroy the Green Zone, and make people afraid to be a collaborator. They weren't concerned about liquidation because they believed they could beat the Raps with their own technology if they could just make sure the humans were not there to stop them. The Red Hand tactics resembled guerrilla campaigns like in Bolivia and Vietnam, the Resistance was more like WWII underground style, where they seek out tactical positions to support a larger army, if and when it comes.

They feel that as long as the aliens have willing human collaborators the aliens will be one step ahead of the resistance. By doing away with the collaborators the aliens will have to take a more proactive strategy, maybe even reveal themselves.

The Red Hand strategy is meant to discourage people from collaborating with the Raptors. Without their human lackeys the Raptors will have become actively involved in the subjugation of Earth, exposing them to attack. As loses mount, the Raptors would find occupying Earth not to their advantage and leave. Of course, the plan could backfire. The Raptors may decide to destroy Earth in one last massive, spiteful attack as a warning to others. Death over slavery, though, that is the Red Hand philosophy.
