Say what you will about Michael Bay

I thought he did a good job. He didn't go over the top like his other films and I think he was restrained as you could be when making a commercial product.

I actually found after watching this film that it was Michael Bay who directed, and was pleasantly surprised. Great action sequences and direction, I gave it 10 stars

I know who I am! I'm a dude playing the dude, disguised as another dude! You a dude who don't know who dude he is.

He uses Ridley Scott's editor of choice on this movie, make of that what you will.

An opinion is not offensive just because you do not agree with it.

I don't know if he's the best, but he definitely knows his sh*t. This was a solid action movie!

Eh...

It looks pretty but he's extremely overindulgent and it all feels so over the top. I can appreciate some of his schlock but this this movie had me groaning with some of the ridiculousness.

I generally like more realistic action sequences like the beach landing and the final battle in Saving Private Ryan. The uprising sequence in Children of Men with the seemingly ~6 minute long take is the best action sequence I've ever seen and nothing Bay does comes close.
